There is a saying that has come to define the spirit of every true Futarian: Impossible Is Nothing. It is more than a slogan; it is a mindset forged in resilience, excellence, and the courage to venture where others dare not.
In 2011, a seemingly fragile young woman walked across the graduation stage of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), having successfully survived the institution’s famed baptism of fire. She was awarded a Bachelor of Technology degree in Quantity Surveying.
To many, she appeared slight in stature. They saw delicate hands, slender wrists, and a gentle demeanour. What they did not see was the unyielding strength that had been forged within her through years of discipline, hard work, and perseverance. Beneath that calm exterior was a woman whose resolve was stronger than steel.
That woman is Omobolanle Adeyemo.
Since leaving the walls of FUTA, Omobolanle has continued to exemplify the values of diligence, excellence, and quiet determination. One deliberate step after another, she has continued to dot every ‘i’ and cross every ‘t’, proving that extraordinary achievements are often the product of consistent effort rather than dramatic moments.
Her journey has taken her from a promising career in Quantity Surveying to Canada, where she has continued to distinguish herself. Affectionately known as Omoby, she has become a source of inspiration to countless young people at home and abroad. Her growing influence, both professionally and on social media, reflects a life dedicated to excellence and purposeful impact.
Yet, even with such an impressive record, she has chosen to challenge herself once again.
In a remarkable demonstration of courage and resilience, Omoby has successfully earned her induction into the Canadian Armed Forces. It is an achievement that demands exceptional physical endurance, mental toughness, unwavering discipline, and an unshakeable commitment to service. It is another barrier broken and another reminder that true Futarians are never afraid to chart unfamiliar paths.
Behind this remarkable woman stands another distinguished Futarian, Mr Temitope Awoyemi, whose steadfast love and support as an outstanding husband have undoubtedly contributed to her success. Together, they are raising two bright kids while continuing to inspire many through the example of their family.
From the records available to the FUTA Alumni Association Worldwide, I can confidently state that Omobolanle Adeyemo is the first known female alumna of FUTA to pursue a career in the armed forces, either within Nigeria or abroad. If so, this is not merely a personal achievement—it is history in the making and another shining testament to her pioneering spirit.
Trailblazers do not simply walk existing paths; they create new ones for others to follow. Omobolanle has done exactly that.
